Costs depend on the route length, setup time, permit requirements, and duration of filming. For festivals and events, we usually calculate this as part of a complete package including the cable cam, additional camera setups, and post-production. Depending on the route length and terrain, we plan for at least two days of setup time before production begins. This includes route surveying, anchoring, cable tensioning, and a test run before the cable cam goes live.
Usually yes, depending on the location, height, and number of people under the route. We handle the coordination with the organizer, the venue, and the safety officers, and we create a safety concept that fits the respective permit requirements. However, it is significantly easier to obtain a permit for this than for a drone.
First of all: Flying a drone over crowds is illegal. A cable cam provides smooth, repeatable shots directly over the crowd, regardless of wind or no-fly zones. A drone is more flexible in space and is suitable for wide overviews or FPV shots through the crowd. We often combine both systems to cover different perspectives.
The cable cam runs on a securely anchored rope and steel cable with a clearly defined load capacity and safety margin. Before every deployment, we conduct a test run and coordinate the route and flight altitude with the event's safety concept.
