The electronic music scene still has a long way to go when it comes to equality and visibility. This makes initiatives that specifically support FLINTA individuals (women, lesbians, intersex, non-binary, trans, and agender people) all the more important – such as the Pioneer DJ FLINTA workshop, which recently took place at the Plattform Studio in Mainz. We at hautnah had the pleasure of capturing this special day on film.

A space for empowerment, connection, and music

The FLINTA workshop in Mainz was much more than just technical training: it was a safe space for connection, inspiration, and creative exploration. Participants were able to try out their own sets on state-of-the-art DJ equipment, network with others, and gain their first experience as DJs in a relaxed atmosphere. Experienced mentors and DJs were on hand to provide advice, feedback, and encouragement.

The vibe? Open, welcoming, and full of energy. For many, it was their first time behind the turntables – and an unforgettable moment.

As a creative agency specializing in event documentation and video content , we were right in the heart of the action. Our mission: to capture the unique atmosphere of the day in an emotional recap and short clips for social media. It was particularly important to us to authentically convey the energy, the connection between the participants, and the spirit of the workshop.

The resulting content not only provides a look back at the event but also helps to carry the message forward: more visibility for FLINTA in the music scene. More space for new voices and perspectives.
