At a glance:
For the 2026 Ikarus Festival in Memmingen, our 12-person video team covered the four-day event using FPV drones, a cable cam, hyperlapse, and multiple videographers. We produced daily recaps, same-day reels covering topics like camping, attendees, and sponsors, as well as one-shot videos of selected acts. We are currently delivering additional theme-specific reels in post-production.

Four days, twelve people, and a former military airfield in the Allgäu region. The 2026 Ikarus Festival marked our start to the festival summer—and, honestly, it was exactly the kind of project we live for.

We headed to Memmingen with a clear plan, but as is often the case with productions of this scale, the festival put us to the test right away. Our cable cam got stuck mid-operation on the first day, and our FPV drones sparked discussions with the police despite having all the necessary permits.

But that’s exactly why you have a twelve-person team. While one issue was being resolved, the next camera was already rolling. Our approach was never that of a classic event documentary—no polished, high-gloss video, but rather footage that feels up close. Close to the people, the energy, and the essence of what makes a festival like Ikarus what it is. Cinematic, yet grounded. The FPV drone didn't just fly for the big overview; it flew right through the crowd. The hyperlapse shots captured how the sunset vibe turned into pure chaos within a few hours. Multiple videographers were out in parallel—each with the mission to capture the moment before it was gone. We also created one-shots for selected acts—one take, no cuts, no second chances. It sounds simple, but it isn't. That’s exactly why it’s so rewarding when you nail it.

Alongside all of that, our post-production machine was running daily: a recap summarizing the best of each day. At the same time, we pushed out same-day reels on various topics—camping, people, sponsors, and more. For us, "same day" really means same day: shoot, edit, publish. Directly from the festival grounds.

And we’re far from finished. In post-production, we are currently creating additional theme-specific reels that tell the story from new perspectives. This turns four days of filming into a content package that generates buzz for weeks after the festival and helps drive ticket sales for 2027.
