At haut[nah], creativity, team spirit, and hands-on experience come together – as Rosa shares in her personal review.
Hi! I’m Rosa, and I’m (still) in my second semester Media: Conception & Production at RheinMain University of Applied Sciences. I really wanted to do my internship semester at a company that would give me real insights into the media world – and that’s exactly what I found at haut[nah] . I had the pleasure of being part of the team from October 2024 to March 2025.
I went in with the mindset that every bit of knowledge – whether it’s editing a social media reel or operating the coffee machine – would help me grow. And that’s exactly how it turned out. I took on the role of social media manager and was able to support the agency in many areas: editing reels, tracking trends, planning content, and, of course, helping out on productions.
“Being part of the team behind the scenes with a camera and having the results right there on the SD card at the end of the day made me feel proud.”

My absolute favorite moments were during the shoots – especially the two-day concert shoot for Schiller and the Sydney Hoffmann shoot at the car museum. I never imagined how massive the scale of these productions is – or how much you can achieve with a solid plan, even without a huge budget or extra gear.
Of course, editing is part of it too – sometimes exhausting, sometimes totally in the flow. I’ve learned how to truly bring my visions to life and realized how much I’ve improved in video editing with DaVinci Resolve . I used to be hesitant to just get started – now I have the confidence to tackle new projects head-on.
"I was never made to feel like I was just there for the grunt work. I was a real part of the team, trusted with tasks, client projects, AND a camera."
for those who might be hesitant to apply in the media industry: I know that a huge part of the media world is male-dominated, and you often feel like you aren't being taken seriously, no matter what job you're doing—whether it's camera, sound, or editing. I would even go so far as to say that many people naturally gravitate toward roles like production management or set design just to avoid the feeling of not living up to some imaginary set of expectations.
To that, I say STOP. Even when I applied for my internship at haut[nah], I was afraid I wouldn't be able to stand up to that dominance.
But would he have as much humor as I do? Would he enrich the office with his personality the way I do? Would he have progressed as quickly in DaVinci? I don't think so. Because that person doesn't exist. I am the person who took the step to apply, and I was hired. And that leap into the unknown is crucial for growing and becoming better :)
This barrier of just trying things out and not constantly downplaying myself has definitely been significantly reduced, though of course I'm still a loooong way from where I want to be. But at least I can say with a clear conscience that I'm on my way!
